George Linde, Player of the Match : Obviously disappointing. Don't think I deserve this. Their bowlers deserve it more than me. I know my strengths. It's my home ground here. We've got match-winners in the squad. Unfortunately it was one of those things tonight. We still believe we can get to the playoffs.

Keshav Maharaj, Durban Super Giants captain : Win was much needed. Were in some trouble with the bat but Breetzke and Wiaan helped us get to the total. Our execution lacked towards the back end in the last game. Today we were more clinical. Conditions were tricky for batting so we tried to utilise that. Been good to see the maturity he has shown (Breetzke). Wasn't an easy wicket. He dug in, allowed Mulder to play the innings later. We knew what he's about. Found his rhythm in this game. He's a great guy. Nice to bounce back after two losses. Bonus point is even more special.

Kieron Pollard, MI Cape Town captain: I don't want to use pitches as an excuse. We need to be better, our lower-order, myself included need to be better. Both teams play on the same pitch, 157 in any given match, we should have been on the winning side. We had opportunities even when Klaasen came in, we wanted to bowl medium pacers against him, we did well. As a bowling unit, we were able to restrict them pretty nicely. 157 on a track like this with a batting line-up like this is what we need to look back at. We have a job to do, there's roles and responsibilities for everyone. The openers have been doing their job, can't fault them for batting well, they've given us good starts. We have to come up with answers, can't leave it all to the openers. Restricting them to 157, the way George and Kaber bowled were positives. We could have bowled sharper in the last couple of overs, we need to be honest with ourselves. The ones in the middle order need to be better, this is the back end of the tournament and we need to get the business started.

It is days like these when you believe that T20 cricket is not just about slam bang hitting and bowlers constantly being taken to the cleaners. It has been a bowlers' day out at Newlands where DSG understood what will work on this sluggish surface and implemented their bowling strategies to perfection. This is a much needed win for Durban, having lost their previous 2 matches.

Apart from their opening bowlers in Smuts and Topley, neither of whom completed their full quota of overs, all other DSG bowlers got their names into the wicket column. Naveen, Maharaj, Noor, Stoinis all got wickets and no one conceded more than 6 runs per over.

It was always going to be a tall ask once top run getters in Ryan Rickelton and Rassie van der Dussen were dismissed cheaply. Sam Curran has shown encouraging signs of returning to his best with the wood in hand but he needed support from his batting colleagues, something that never arrived.

Teams have figured out how to get rid of Kieron Pollard - wrist spin. He will not only have batting woes but also captaincy calls. Do MICT have it in them to grind out when their openers do not click? Was it really wise to choose to bowl first on a deteriorating pitch where bowlers had plenty of purchase and it got better as the evening progressed?

This win takes DSG at par with Paarl Royals in terms of points (18). They have also bagged the bonus point and even though the Royals have an extra game in hand, it will be an exciting affair when Paarl host DSG later this week.
