Right then. That's all we have from this contest. It'll be Perth Scorchers in the final once again, as they look to clinch their fourth BBL title. There's still a lot to unravel in this finals week though. The Sydney Thunder battle it out against the Adelaide Strikers in the knockout contest at the MCG tomorrow. Make sure you tune in to Sportskeeda for that one. Until then, this is Pratyush Rohra, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Navjeevan Rajput. See you around. Stay safe!
Josh Inglis (Player of the match): It was a good night as everyone played really well. Yea KP (Kurtis Patterson) has been awesome all year, he helped me out by keeping the pressure off me. It has been a tough season for me and I was looking forward to tonight. Yea sticking to the basics does give me confidence but it does not give the guarantee that I can score the runs all the time.
Perth Scorchers win by 49 runs.
The Perth Scorchers have managed to seal their spot in the BBL final with a commanding win. It was the destructive batting performance that's got them over the line in this contest. Josh Inglis returned to form in style alongside Kurtis Patterson to put them in command from the very first powerplay.
The bowlers carried forward the momentum to run through this Sixers' batting unit. The addition of Jhye Richardson went exactly how you'd expect it to, while Agar ran riot tonight. They'll get a chance to put their feet up and recover with a 6-day break. The injury to Mitch Marsh will be one area of concern as they hope to get him back into the mix for the finals.
As far as the Sydney Sixers are concerned, it's been an outing to forget. The bowlers failed to make any sort of positive impact against the Scorchers line up. Ben Dwarshuis' blitzkrieg at the end was the only positive from this contest for them, as they await either the Sydney Thunder or the Adelaide Strikers in their next contest.
That will be that then. Peter Hatzoglou wraps up the proceedings and had a wicket to his name. The Perth Scorchers have dominated the Sydney Sixers, winning the contest by 49 runs.
19.2 Peter Hatzoglou to Ben Dwarshuis, HATZOGLOU GETS THE BIG MAN!! THAT WILL DO!! Tossed up, slower through the air outside off. Ben comes down the track and throws his bat at it but misses. Josh behind the stumps collects the ball and whips of the bails to dismiss Ben to close off the show for tonight!
Ben Dwarshuis st Josh Inglis b Peter Hatzoglou 66 (29b 7x4 4x6)
19.1 Peter Hatzoglou to Steve O'Keefe, flatter on the stumps, Steve flicks it towards deep square leg for one
Peter Hatzoglou [3.0-0-27-0] is back into the attack for the final over
Seems like the Sixers' have found their replacement for Daniel Hughes, if he's injured for the next match as well. Get Benny Dwarshuis up there and let him have some fun! What a knock this has been! You can bet the people that had him in their fantasy teams are enjoying this. In case you're wondering. Yes, I am one of them!
