Ronda Jean Rousey is an American professional wrestler, actor, and retired martial artist currently signed with WWE. She is best known for her work with UFC and WWE. She is a former RAW Women's Champion and SmackDown Women's Champion.

Early Life

Ronda Rousey is the youngest daughter of her parents - AnnMaria De Mars (née Waddell) and Ronald John Rousey. She was born on the 1st of February in 1987 in Riverside, California. For the first six years, Rousey found it difficult to form an intelligible sentence and struggled with speech due to apraxia. This was due to being born with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. When she was three, her parents moved from Riverside, California to Jamestown, North Dakota for the treatment of this disorder.

Professional Wrestling Career

Before signing with the company, she had several appearances with the company, such as Mae Young Classic, SummerSlam, and WrestleMania.

WWE

RAW (2018-2019)

At the Royal Rumble, she made her debut and pointed at the WrestleMania sign. At WrestleMania 34, she teamed up with Kurt Angle to take on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon and won.

Rousey challenged Nia Jax for the RAW Women's Championship but was unsuccessful due to a money in the bank cash in by Alexa Bliss. At SummerSlam 2018, Rousey successfully defeated Alexa Bliss to win the RAW Women's Championship.

Rousey had a successful run as a champion where she defeated the likes of Nikki Bella, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, and Bayley. After Royal Rumble, she began her long-awaited rivalry with Becky Lynch. After weeks of attacks and promos, Charlotte was added to the match with her SmackDown Women's Championship. At WrestleMania 35, Rousey lost both the championships to Becky Lynch. It was her last appearance since her hiatus.

Return to WWE (2022 - present)

In 2022, Ronda made a surprise return and won the Royal Rumble match. At Elimination Chamber, Ronda Rousey and Naomi defeated Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville.

She faced Flair at WrestleMania Saturday for SmackDown Women's Championship in a losing effort. Rousey then defeated Flair and won the title in a rematch at WrestleMania Backlash in an "I Quit" Match.

She retained her title against Raquel Rodriguez on RAW and Natalya at Money in the Bank. After the latter match, she was attacked by Ms. Money in the Bank Liv Morgan who defeated Rousey in an impromptu match.

On the 2022 SummerSlam event, the Rowdy superstar challenged Liv Morgan for the SmackDown Women's Championship which she lost. After the contest she attacked Morgan and the referee.

She would go on to attack officials and pay fines for her offenses. She was also arrested on-screen due to her actions. On the SmackDown before Clash at the Castle, Rousey even attacked executive producer Adam Pearce and locked him in an armbar.

At the SmackDown after the event, Rousey won a fatal-five-way match and faced Liv Morgan at Extreme Rules for the SmackDown Women's Championship in an Extreme Rules match. Rousey defeated Liv Morgan and retained her SmackDown Women's Championship.

On the 29th October edition of SmackDown, Rousey defeated Emma after she accepted the champion's open challenge. On the Survivor Series PLE, Ronda Rousey defeated Shotzi to retain her SmackDown Women's Championship.

On the December 30th 2022 edition of SmackDown, Rousey defeated Raquel Rodriguez to retain her SmackDown Women's Championship but was challenged again immediately by a returning Charlotte Flair. Flair eventually won the match, dethroning Rousey to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion.

Since then, Rousey has been teaming up with fellow former mixed martial artist Shayna Baszler.
