Hailing from Mullanpur, Mohali, Punjab, the Punjab Kings are one of the teams competing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Formerly known as the Kings XI Punjab, the team started its journey in the inaugural Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008 before changing to its present name in February 2021. The Punjab Kings are owned by K.P.H. Dream Cricket Private Limited.
The Punjab Kings are coached by former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting while they are being captained by Shreyas Iyer in the IPL 2025. The team has been represented by legendary cricketers like Adam Gilchrist, David Miller, Virender Shehwag Chris Gayle, among others in the past. However, the Punjab Kings are yet to become the IPL Champions, as of May 2025.

PBKS Injury Replacement
Glenn Maxwell was ruled out of IPL 2025 due to injury. He played seven games for PBKS before being left out. Mitchell Owen came in as a replacement for Maxwell. PBKS signed Owen for INR 3 crore. Mitchell Owen will reportedly start his stint with PBKS after he completes his stint with Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025.
