Praveen Dubey: A Brief Biography

Born in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, 31-year-old Praveen Dubey is a right-arm leg spinner and batsman. Praveen is seen playing for Delhi Capitals in the IPL and for Karnataka in domestic cricket.


Praveen Dubey Career

Praveen Dubey was first seen in the 2014–15 Karnataka Premier League where he took 8 wickets in no matches and the very next year he took 7 wickets in six matches and made a place in Karnataka's team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Praveen Dubey was included in the IPL 2016 action by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 35 lakh, although he had not played a single first-class match till then.

Praveen Dubey played his first domestic T20 match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2018 against Goa. Two years later, on 11 January 2020, he played his first and only Ranji match for Karnataka against Saurashtra.

Without playing any matches, Praveen Dubey left RCB and joined the Delhi Capitals team in 2020 where he played his first IPL match. Praveen has been associated with Delhi Capitals since 2020 and has participated in four matches.


Praveen Dubey Dubey Domestic Career

Praveen Dubey played his first and only first-class match for Karnataka against Saurashtra in 2020, but before that, he had made his debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2015 and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2018.

In his only Ranji game, he picked two wickets and scored an unbeaten 46 runs in the first inning. In his List A career Praveen has dismissed 21 players in 13 games and has scored 87 runs with 37* best. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali's T20 trophy, he made his debut against Goa on January 8th, 2018 where he scored 17 runs in 11 balls and bowled two overs where he conceded 19 runs in two overs.


Praveen Dubey IPL Career

Praveen Dubey was included in their team for the first time in IPL by Royal Challengers Bangalore when he had not played any first-class game but in 2020, Royal Challengers Bangalore released him without playing any game, after which Delhi signed him in their team for INR 20 Lakh. Luckily Praveen Dubey made his IPL debut in the first season with Delhi Capitals against Mumbai Indians on 31st October 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

In his first match, Praveen spent 29 runs in three overs but did not get any wickets. Praveen Dubey played a total of three matches in his first season where he did not get a single wicket, after which he did not get the opportunity to play any match for the next 2 years. In the 2023 IPL, he once again made a comeback and played against Punjab Kings. Played his fourth IPL match on 13 June 2023 where he bowled three overs and took one wicket for 19 runs.
