Phil Salt (England captain): Incredible performance, what Livi did was second to none, we knew he's capable of that. See Beth come out and play the way he did. not just that but how he paced his innings, took probably their best bowler down, really impressed. They had a good powerplay, let them get away with it, really pleased with the partnerships. We know how good they are at the top, you want to go back to your plans - did we execute them right, you have to ask those questions, hopefully you find the answers somewhere there. He's (Bethell) a real talent. The way he took down Zampa, not many can do it like that. specially on his second international game. Really really pleased for him. Had a nice reception here, big game, we wanted to go to Old Trafford at 1-1.

Travis Head (Australia captain): Good score, Slightly changed (conditions), but we knew that obviously. At the toss you'd do what you like to do, thought we got to a good score, Hards (Hardie) was exceptional the last couple overs, great innings. You try to do your best and see how it works. Nice for him (Fraser-McGurk) to get into the series. Really positive throughout, didn't get the win, but we're off to Manchester. We knew what he (Short) has to offer, we've got a lot of all-rounder, nice options going into the final T20I and then the ODIs. No win, just trying to keep the ship rolling for Mitch until he's back.

Liam Livingstone (Player of the Match) - It's been nice.I did say that I was getting my body to normal after the hundred. The last couple of years have taught me some life lessons. Moving up the order has been challenging as I have to play a different role but I am enjoying it. Tough couple of years but it's nice to be out her with a smile. (On Bethell) He is an incredible talent and I have seen him flourish in the last couple of weeks in the Hundred. He has a great head on young shoulders. To be batting out with him, he is a fearless kid and it's pretty special. Got a nice reception and wanted to go Old Trafford 1-1

Unlike in the first innings, the start was sedate as Aaron Hardie and Cooper Connolly managed to keep things quiet in the first two overs. The former found some away-movement, and beat the bat of Phil Salt on one occasion as well in the first over. Salt, though, broke free, and in a massive way at that in Hardie's second over. The England skipper brought his bottom hand into play and clobbered the ball across the leg side - on three successive occasions at that - clearing the cricket ground the third time.

Australia found an opening shortly after though - Sean Abbott got one to angle into Will Jacks, who spooned it into Jake Fraser-McGurk's palms in the deep. Abbott struck again two balls later, comprehensively cleaning up Jordan Cox with a nip-backer. In spite of all his bowling options, Head then turned to Marcus Stoinis, and Salt and Livingstone proceeded to pounce. 13 came off the over, and the pressure eased on England a touch.

England ended the powerplay with 65 on the board eventually. A couple of relatively quiet overs followed, Head took a gamble and brought Matthew Short on against two right-handers, and it worked. Salt, in trying to smash him down the ground, got a leading edge, and was held by Abbott at long on. Livingstone, though, notched up a gear right after the halfway mark - he pulled out the ramp against Cameron Green, finding and clearing the ropes in the same over.

With momentum beneath his sails, Livingstone kept going. Head's decision to give Stoinis a second over proved fatal - Livingstone was all over the Australian all-rounder in the 13th over, mauling him over the leg side boundary twice and bringing up his fifty with it. Jacob Bethell got in on the act the next over - having been pitted against Zampa's leg-spin, Bethell made good use of a favourable match-up, taking 20 off the over himself.

The required rate was almost down to a run-a-ball when Head turned back to Short's off-breaks. The ploy worked - Short claimed two left-handers in Bethell and Sam Curran in the seventeenth over. Australia had very little to work with, though - with 13 needed off the last two overs, Head gambled with Short once again, but it didn't come off the third time. Short did claim both Livingstone and Brydon Carse off successive deliveries, but the scores were level by then. Rashid pinched the winning run with a dabble towards backward point, and we now have a decider at Manchester. Presentations to follow....
