Maheesh Theekshana | Player of the Match: After the powerplay, i just wanted to bowl more dot balls. Watt bowled really well and made my job easier. The surface was a bit slower than yesterday, got better for me. We have got experienced players, we are performing well as a team. In Abu Dhabi, I have bowled in the T10 and the 2021 World Cup as well. I know the wickets, hopefully I can get better out there.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Sharjah Warriors captain: The guys were brilliant in the first innings, made our job easier. The locals are really learning, building confidence for us on how to bowl, where to bowl. This isn't the easiest place to play spin, and to have someone who can bowl 3 overs in the powerplay is brilliant. He gets us the chance to bowl Maheesh throughout the middle as well. Everyone's chipping in, just about finding consistency. (On Guptill) He is okay, but he will get scanned. He seems optimistic. Will have a good rest, and one training day before we go out there to Abu Dhabi.

David Warner, Dubai Capitals captain : Were not good enough with the bat. We are all accountable. The wicket played a little bit different than what we thought. Credit to their bowlers. But we have to bat better than this. Our shot-selection needed to be better. We have to be more brave, allowing ourselves to get too conservative. We know we don't play here again for a while. Going back to Dubai and returning to the drawing room will be key. We have a team dinner tomorrow, we will have our golf sessions and a bit of strategising before we play our next game.

Johnson Charles: I think it's very important. I am selected to perform in the powerplay so it will be very important to score runs. What a thumping win for Sharjah Warriors. They make it 2 wins in 2 days. They have never lost to Dubai Capitals across the two seasons so far. They have registered 3 wins out of 4 encounters, with a no-result. The single in the final ball of the match takes Johnson Charles to 200 runs in this competition, he becomes the first batter to achieve that milestone and will be waiting for the likes of Nicholas Pooran and Muhammad Waseem to chase him when they take the field tomorrow night.

When you post 104 after winning the toss and electing to bat first, you are likely to come second. Dickwella and Charles thwarted any chances of a Dubai Capitals bowling show when they put up a very convincing 70 run opening stand. It was the Sri Lankan keeper who took the initial risks which turned out to be productive as he smashed his countryman Chameera for 3 boundaries in the pacer's opening over.

Joe Denly, after warming the bench in the opening few matches in this season, came in at 3 and expedited the winning process for his side. With his vast experience as an England international, the Warriors look well placed now. Tom Kohler-Cadmore had a wonderful outing with the bat in hand last night and he was not even required as Warriors go to the 2nd spot with a net run rate that has almost jumped a point, it is now at -0.68 from -1.5

It is difficult to make any substantial inference for a bowling group that had such a meagre total but Warner will now begin to worry a bit as their journey looks a bit derailed after what looked like a promising start to the campaign. With 41 balls remaining, this loss will hurt for a while.
