In 2015, Kohler-Cadmore made his First-Class debut against Queensland at the age of 19. A few months later, he was named vice-captain of the U-19 World Cup squad of Australia.
Following the Junior World Cup, the pacer was given a Big Bash League (BBL) rookie contract by the Perth Scorchers team for the fifth season of the league, however he only played one game. The young pacer had a breakthrough BBL season in 2016-17, when his team won their third title and Jhye was named 'Man of the Match' for his three wickets in the BBL final. He made his first-class debut for Western Australia on 15 March 2016, in the 2015-16 Sheffield Shield.
