We saw an unbelievable run chase in which South Africa made a mockery of the total that the Windies set. The series is now level at 1-1 with all to play for at the Wanderers on Tuesday. Allow us- Pradeep and Mohul Bhowmick- to take your leave today. Until next time, ciao!

Aiden Markram (South Africa captain): Sometimes you just have to laugh it off. It was absolutely phenomenal the way the lads went about. Our dressing room was quite calm at the halfway stage. We felt that they were 10-15 runs short. Credit to the openers for getting us off to such a good start. Hendricks was good as well, we spoke a lot about Quinton (de Kock) but Hendricks did it his own way. We were in a situation where we had to back ourselves and go for our shots. We are excited for the Wanderers on Tuesday, so let's hope that it will also be a good game. Our supporters have been great, we want to appreciate them and thank them for coming.

Quinton de Kock is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: Quite special, obviously, he was quite the silent assassin and did what Reeza does, helped me quite a long, we both are proud of what we did today. Just pick the right options, just needed a bit of hope and batting chats helped, especially in Centurion, keep it simple. Ball travels here quite a bit, we knew, even if we're slightly behind we could still catch up and the nature of the wicket is quite a road out there. (On his first T20 hundred) Quite special, I've been searching for it while, we don't play much international cricket in Centurion, but to come and do it here in home ground is special.

Rovman Powell (West Indies captain): It was an important game for us, just couldn't afford an injury, I'll be ok in two days. Crazy game of cricket, we thought we had enough but credit to de Kock and Hendricks, they applied the pressure from ball one and we didn't respond. We went hard, that's the license Charles had and his hitting was exceptional today. Guys are going in the right direction, we just need to put a full game from here on. I'm used to it now, my team scored 7th time over 200 runs and still ended up losing. Faster you bowl, faster you get hit and we thought of taking the pace off the ball. It only gets spicier here, it's a good entertainment for the fans.

We have witnessed absolute carnage here in Centurion today. How often do we get to say that we have seen 258 scored in a Twenty20 game? And how often do we get to say that we have seen 258 chased down? South Africa made an absolute mockery of the total the West Indies set up, and the assault began when Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks decided to cut loose from the first over itself.

The former was at his imperious best today, and made the most of the belter of a surface that the Proteas found themselves batting in. South Africa, at the moment, hold the distinguished record of chasing down the highest totals in both One Day Internationals and Twenty20 internationals. They achieved the former against Australia in 2006 at the Wanderers in Johannesburg and the latter today at SuperSport Park in Centurion.

Hendricks gave de Kock good company and ensured that the partnership they built gave the Windies the jitters. De Kock struck an eventful century while Hendricks had to remain content with a half-century. After the two of them had departed, it was left to the likes of David Miller, Rilee Rossouw, Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen to see the game out. It was the latter duo who were at the crease when the Proteas chased this total down.

This was a historic run chase by the hosts, but the visitors cannot be too displeased with themselves. Sure, they bowled poorly in patches, but the pitch was an absolute road and allowed the batters of South Africa to play without any fear whatsoever. If it was Herschelle Gibbs who was the hosts' hero in 2006, it was de Kock today, seventeen years later! It is extremely sad that Johnson Charles' heroics go almost unnoticed today, but he will give himself a pat in the back for having showcased that it ca be done.
