So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentator, Lavil Saldanha as we wrap up the proceedings of this fixture. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda as we have a lot more cricketing action across different formats lined up today. Until next time, it is a warm good bye from us.
Faf du Plessis (TSK skipper): I thought it was a good pitch. This track was one of the better winds. Thought if you bowled with good plans, could slow down the scoring. Rashid does that for a living but we got through in the end. (On Stoinis) All-round ability. Last year we didn't have such all-rounders. To have such players with gold-dust. Both of them have been excellent. Zia has been excellent with the new ball taking big wickets. Great electricity. All the yellow fans.
Kieron Pollard (MINY skipper): The bowlers did well I thought especially in the back-half. At that point, had already lost three wickets in the Powerplay. So, there was no point taking risks. But unfortunately I got out and these things happen when you are not doing well. But Monank and Rashid did well in the end. Two consecutive games, our lower order has done well.
Rashid Khan is the player of the match. Here is what he has to say: I think it would have been great to be on the winning side, I was having a positive mindset and score as many runs as possible. It is a tight tournament and net run rate could play a huge role. I backed my skill and it paid off. The management gave me the responsibility to bat at number 7, it is just about keeping my basics right and doing the job. Facing familiar faces does help. I played DJ (Dwayne Bravo) during the World Cup in the nets and it was easy to read him.
Marcus Stoinis (Texas Super Kings): Nice to be involved, but there are somethings I can do better. The execution with the ball, thinking away and how to target bowlers are some things I need to work on when batting. It is a moving target, sometimes you get off the mark nicely. With the new ball I got some swing and bowling at the death is another story. It is a good win, nice to get it at the middle stage of the tournament. A nice win to get with 4 days off now
MATCH OVER! Texas Super Kings won by 15 runs!
Texas Super Kings 176/6 (20) MI New York 161/7 (20)
In the end, Texas Super Kings comfortably prevail by 15 runs while MI New York succumb to their second defeat in four matches. Chasing 177 for victory, MINY got off to a poor start as the trio of Ruben Clinton, Nicholas Pooran and Steven Taylor departing in the first four overs itself. The innings went nowhere from there as the duo of Monank Patel and Kieron Pollard struggled to keep the scorecard ticking. Pollard's hard time in the middle eventually came to an end in the 9th over as Dwayne Bravo took a superb low catch at short fine-leg off Zia-ul-Haq's bowling. A few overs later, Mohammad Mohsin castled Tim David with a cracking leg-break as MINY lost half their side.
At the end of the 12th over, MINY required 123 runs off 48 balls as the match seemed done and dusted. However, a few decent overs helped MINY before Rashid Khan went berserk against Naveen-ul-Haq in the 15th over by taking 25 runs. Eventually, Monank also started to provide support as he smashed Marcus Stoinis with the 16th over going for 18 runs. Just as things got interesting, Dwayne Bravo bowled a fine over conceding 10 runs which also included a drop chance off Rashid Khan. Both the batters got to their fifties but Bravo produced another brilliant over as he conceded only eight runs and ensured MINY needed 32 runs off the last six balls. Rashid started the final over from Stoinis with a boundary but he was sent back off the next delivery. Stoinis added another scalp of Monank as the game petered out with TSK wrapping up a 15-run win.

19.6 Marcus Stoinis to Trent Boult, FOUR! BUT TSK WIN! Full from Stoinis, Boult swings hard at that one and gets an inside edge that races down to fine leg for a boundary to end the chase. MI NY fall short as TSK win the match by 15 runs

19.5 Marcus Stoinis to Monank Patel, CAUGHT! Short from Stoinis, Monank goes for the trusty ramp this time but fails to get enough on that occasion. Mohammad Mohsin tracks back and does well to catch that one
