Kieron Pollard, Trinbago Knight Riders Captain : (On bowling Tim David at the start) The outfield was a very wet. Keeping that in mind I thought that if the spinners had to do anything, it had to be at the start of the chase since it would only become tougher post that . It's a concern. Narine is still not fit and David's minor injury concerns does not bode well. We will continue to rally and we will continue to rest. The doctors have done a really good job. The unfortunate thing for us is that each and every team has got an opportunity to play in Guyana. We have to assess the conditons quickly. The fans have been incredible, they have supported us continously through our home leg, continue to support us and that inspires us. Hopefully, we bring the trophy to these lovely guys at the end of the tournament.

Rovman Powell, Barbados Royals captain : I think credit has to given to our bowlers. They deserve it. Another game where our batters let us down. That is an area that we would like to develop as we double down on our plans for the play-offs. We qualified for the playoffs a few games ago. We have good players in our dressing room and we got to pick ourselves up. As individuals, we need to ensure that we step up and deliver in crucial moments of the game. At the start, we let TKR dictate the game to us. When you allow the spinners to bowl tight in the powerplay, it can only mean we would be under pressure and then Pollard came in and bowled two tight overs. We played them twice and they beat us twice, hopefully they don't beat us thrice. We are good enough to get that win if it happens again.

Akeal Hosein is the Player of the Match. Here is what he has to say: When walking around, the outfield was a bit wet and we knew it was going to be tough on this outfield. In the last game, I put down Johnson Charles so I gave the captain a little stare to show I did it. It is a good feeling, DJ's last game on home soil as we go to Guyana. Pretty proud of the bowling and the batting unit, we had an all-round performance

00:31 Local Time, 04:31 GMT, 10:01 IST: This has been a terrific performance by the Knight Riders as they hand Royals their 4th consecutive defeat of the season. Jason Roy departed in the first over of the game tonight but he impacted the game early while fielding as he took the catch in the first over of the chase to send back Kadeem Alleyne.

Tim David became the opening bowling partner to Akeal Hosein in what might have been a lot to do a lot with match-ups and how Quinton de Kock has his deficiencies against right arm off break early on in his innings. The Aussie was also able to reach a LBW appeal as the move certainly proved economical in his first couple of overs before his 3rd over on the trot was taken for 17 runs.

The combo of Hosein and Jason Roy emerged again as QDK fell in the 3rd over of the chase in the quest for quick runs. Hosein and David were the only TKR bowlers seen in the powerplay. The first bowling change came only after the fielding restrictions were relaxed. The first time we saw pace in the innings was when Kieron Pollard decided to introduce himself in the 8th over.

The plan of action was very straightforward. Take off pace. Use the variations. Provide as little speed, leaving it to the batters to come up with something out of the ordinary and hope for mistakes to surface from their end in that process. It was impressive from the TKR bowlers. There was pressure on the young Royals batters of Athanaze and Wickham as even though they have brought up their half century stand, they continually required to find new ways of scoring runs quickly on this surface.

Pollard's men pushed the required run rate to 11 runs per over by the halfway point of this chase. And when Hosein returned for his final over after the drinks break, he broke the partnership in his first ball. He finished with 3 for 15 from his 4 overs. Powell had scored only 26 runs in his last 5 matches - 7, DNB, 1, 8 and 10 - for his own self esteem, he would have liked to make a notable contribution going into the play-offs.

Chris Jordan became only the 2nd pacer to come into the attack in the 13th over of the innings. He dismissed the set Alick Athanaze in his opening over itself. But Miller took Jordan to the cleaners in the 15th over with 2 boundaries and 2 sixes in 4 consecutive deliveries, which was then followed by a no ball.

Salamkheil had dropped the Protea southpaw when on 2 and the leggie had to face a bit of the music himself initially from the rampaging left handed experienced batter before he was able to send Miller back. Powell smashed 18 runs in the 17th over as the crowd went silent because they knew it was not over just yet.

But Jordan returned strongly in the next over to put the match out of the grasp of the Royals. When Hinds dismissed Powell in the penultimate over, it was the final nail on the coffin. Presentations to follow soon.
