Commentary

Shubman Gill collects the trophy and then the entire young Indian teams gets to have their hands on it. They were given a wake-up call in the very first match but they have responded in the best possible way winning the next 4 matches and capping off the series with a 4-1 margin. Next up, for Team India, will be the white-ball tour to Sri Lanka where a new era in Indian cricket under the new head coach, Gautam Gambhir, will begin. Not even a fortnight remains for that and we are as excited as you. For Zimbabwe, they are heading to Ireland next to play a Test match after a while. Shubman Gill (India Captain): Excellent series this! The way we came back after the first match was special! When we first came in, not everyone got a decent hit in the nets, but we adapted well. I've been to Sri Lanka once before, so, this tour will be another one to look forward to from my side.

Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe captain) : Blessing really bowled throughout the whole series. Batting wise, we are still below par. But we are certainly improving, one bad game here and there is okay. But what will be a grey area for me will be our fielding, we were still poor, we can improve certainly. Unfortunately, Richard (Ngarava) missed out in the start. To have him in the team fit is a blessing. Him and Blessing (Muzarabani) complementing each other, really good to see. For me, my workload needs to be managed. I have not played white-ball cricket for the last couple of years, my shoulder is not a 100%. I do not want to be someone who just gets the jersey, I have a lot of respect for the domestic guys who have put up all the runs. I will be heading for The Hundred Competition, it is a white-ball tournament; looking forward to that.

Washington Sundar (Player of the Series, India): It was good today, great to finish with a win! After the first game, I felt that it was very similar to South Africa. We played there late last year, so the pace and bounce was pretty similar. There have been a lot of takeaways of course and I'm going to carry that forward into the next series from here!

Shivam Dube (Player Of The Match) : It is always a special thing for me to contribute in both the departments. Felt really good today (to contribute). That is the T20 game, one good shot and you are back into it (if he struggled initially). It was good, the ground is a bit big but it was enjoyable for me. The people, the conditions are really good.

Riyan Parag: It feels great to win the series! It's been a spotless tournament for us, except the first game. Representing the country together, was special for both of us. We got our caps together in the same match, and we hope for many more matches! When I got out there, Sanju bhai told me to build a partnership first. That got us out of a bit of a hole, thankfully! Just trying to get better with every outing.

Abhishek Sharma: With the ball we were quite clinical. With the bat, we were slightly disappointing in the first match but the best thing was that after the loss, we didn't have any time to reflect! That helped. I've worked really hard and I want to get consistently better as a bowler. So the backing given to me by the management was a big thing for me!

India have outplayed Zimbabwe yet again in this series and have inflicted a crushing defeat to the African nation as they clinch the series by a comprehensive margin of 4-1 in this 5-match T20I series.

Talk about getting the better of your opponents in all 3 departments, this Indian team has definitely managed to do that as there was no match in between the two teams with the World Champions being miles ahead of a low in confidence Zimbabwe team.

Chasing 168, Zimbabwe got off to a poor start yet again and they lost Madhevere in the first over. Mukesh Kumar bowled a brilliant spell as he got another wicket in his second over and should have had one more had he not overstepped. Marumani got lucky and he stitched a partnerhsip with Myers as they took down Bishnoi, something that had not been done throughout the series. It looked like Zimbabwe will give a good shot at this target but then Sundar broke the partnership as he dismissed Marumani in the 9th over.

Zimbabwe were poor with the bat and lost their way post that and crumbled under pressure which was evident in their running between the wickets. Shivam Dube then got into the action with the ball as he bowled four brilliant overs getting 3 wickets putting the target beyond Zimbabwe's reach. Faraz Akram hit a quick-fire 27 with some big hits but that was not going to cut the slack for Zimbabwe with the situation they were in. Mukesh Kumar returned at the end and did the clean up job like a proper fast bowler ending up with career best figures.

18.3 Mukesh Kumar to Richard Ngarava, CLEANED HIM UP! INDIA WIN THE MATCH! INDIA WIN THE SERIES COMPREHENSIVELY! Good length nip-backer on off-and-middle. Ngarava swung from the back foot to try and get it wide of mid-on. But he missed completely. The ball then went on to knock the stumps over, making the middle pole lie flat on the ground!
