R.J. Mickens is a former collegiate football safety who played for Clemson University from 2020 to 2024. He attended Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas, where he began his football journey. Mickens committed to the Clemenson Tigers football program in 2020. Over five seasons, he appeared in 60 games and started 30 of them. He recorded 229 tackles (13.5 for loss), seven interceptions, 15 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 2,174 career snaps. He became just the 10th player in Clemson history to play in 60 games. In 2023, Pro Football Focus named him to the Third-Team All-ACC. In 2024, he earned Fourth-Team All-ACC honors from Phil Steele. (via Clemson Tigers' official website)

On December 27, 2024, Mickens declared for the 2025 NFL Draft via his Instagram account (@rjmickens_). His Next Gen Stats score of 68 ranked 10th overall among the safeties, according to NFL's official website.

R.J. Mickens' NIL Deals

As of April 2025, R.J. Mickens has taken part in several NIL partnerships. In August 2024, he teamed up with ONIT Athlete, a platform focused on NIL opportunities for college athletes. In March 2024, he signed a deal with EA Sports. Mickens was featured in their college football video game, EA Sports College Football 25.
