Cameron Jerrell Newton is a former American football quarterback who played 11 seasons in the NFL, mostly with the Carolina Panthers. The once offensive rookie of the year has also been honored as the NFL MVP (2015) and NFL Offensive Player of the Year (2015). He was picked first overall in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton played for the Carolina Panthers from 2011 to 2019, spent the 2020 season with the New England Patriots, and returned to the Panthers in 2021. He has not played in the NFL since the 2021 season.

Newton attended Westlake High School in Atlanta, where he played football. He started his college career at the University of Florida, playing for the Gators in 2007 and 2008. In January 2009, he transferred to Blinn College in Texas to play under head coach Brad Franchione before joining Auburn University for the 2010 season.
