The Sunday Night Football schedule for the 2024–25 NFL season is finally out, with the official NFL schedule released on May 15, 2024. As fans are eagerly waiting for the new season to get underway, which is still quite a few months away, they can start planning their Sunday night schedules as early as May.

Sunday Night Football is one of the best ways for fans to relax and enjoy the games as the weekend comes to an end. As a result, the NFL tries to keep as many key games as they can which is not only beneficial for the fans but also helps with revenue. Sunday Night Football (SNF) belongs completely to NBC and its streaming service, Peacock. Generally, Sunday games for FOX and CBS are decided as per the following criteria:

1. AFC team games broadcast rights belong to CBS
2. NFC team games broadcast rights belong to FOX
3. Interconference games meaning AFC teams vs NFC teams broadcast rights are given to the away team’s network. (Meaning, if the away team belongs to the AFC, then CBS will broadcast the game, and vice-versa).

The upside for NBC is that Sunday Night Football is considered a primetime slot and that gives the channel exclusive rights to host these games for the entire duration of the NFL season.

Sunday Night Football Kickoff Time

Sunday Night Football kickoff time is generally 8:20 p.m. Eastern time, live on NBC and its streaming platform Peacock which provides viewers more than one option to watch the games. As this is a prime time slot, there is little to no change in the time of the games for the entirety of the NFL season.

However, it is worth noting that despite the fact that the 2024 Sunday Night Football schedule is out, a few of these games may get flexed depending on how the NFL sees fit. Therefore, it is important to keep an eye out on games that may be potentially flexed especially towards the mid to later stages of the season.

Sunday Night Football Key Matchups (Week 3 - Kansas City Chiefs vs Atlanta Falcons)

The Kansas City Chiefs get their third straight primetime game of the season when they head to Atlanta to take on the Falcons on Sunday Night Football this week.

It’s a tale of contrasting fortunes for both teams but there are some similarities with how they’ve started the season. The Chiefs picked up two wins in tough games against the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals, though both wins were won by a hair’s margin. Elsewhere, the Falcons got their game plan together to beat the Eagles last week after losing to the Steelers in Week 1. Kirk Cousins looked much more comfortable in the pocket and led the game-winning drive late to rescue a win from the clutches of defeat.

The Chiefs, meanwhile, were left to deal with yet another problem. Super Bowl-winning RB Isiah Pacheco will be placed on Injured Reserve, which means he will miss the next four weeks of football. The Super Bowl champions have signed Kareem Hunt as RB insurance with Carson Steele and Samaje Perrine also on the roster. All things considered, expect this Chiefs-Falcons showdown to be an electric one with both teams looking to show the masses their offenses haven’t stagnated.
