Grigor Dimitrov is the most successful Bulgarian tennis player who has earned a name for himself with his consistent performances across surfaces on the tour. With his versatility and agility, he achieved the career-high ranking of World No. 3 on November, 2017. Dimitrov has won nine ATP tour singles titles to date, his ninth ATP singles title came at the 2024 Brisbane International, where he defeated Holger Rune in the final. He also made the final at the 2024 Miami Open, and returned to the top 10 for the first time since November 2018.

Grigor Dimitrov's Grand Slam achievements include reaching the semifinals of the 2019 US Open, the 2017 Australian Open, and the 2014 Wimbledon. Dimitrov emerged victorious at the 2017 ATP Final, defeating David Goffin in the final. He became the first debutant player to win the title since Alex Corretja in 1998. He received the Balkan Athlete of the Year award in 2017.

Grigor Dimitrov turned pro in 2008 and achieved significant success as a junior. He won boy’s singles titles at the 2008 Wimbledon Championships and the 2008 US Open. The Bulgarian also claimed the U-14 European title. The Bulgarian played his first match on the ATP level at the 2008 Ordina Open where he was defeated by Igor Andreev in the first round.
