As a result, her 75-week streak as World No.1 came to an end, before she reclaimed her title. At the 2023 China Open, Swiatek defeated Coco Gauff to advance to her third WTA 1000 final and seventh overall for the season. She won her fifth title of the year and her sixteenth overall by defeating Liudmila Samsonova in straight sets in October 2023. Iga ended the year by capturing the WTA Finals title.
