Best Bowling Figures every bowler has the tendency to dominate against the opposition batting order with an extraordinary spell. On any given day, a particular bowler, not necessarily a frontline bowler of the team, can make huge inroads by hitting the deck with incisive lengths and lines.
Best Bowling Figures
A bowler can hog the limelight for a long time by registering incredible figures in a World Cup game. Such performances can build or revive an individual's career.
Australia's lethal fast bowler Glenn McGrath holds the record for best bowling figures in World Cup history with a staggering spell of 7-4-7-15.
Rules for the best bowling figures in World Cup 2023
The player who wants to record the best bowling figures in the World Cup has to pick the most wickets in an innings and also ensure that he leaks fewer runs. In other words, he should have a better economy rate than other bowlers who pick the same number of wickets in an innings.
The aggregate wickets or overall economy rate of a bowler in the tournament has no role involved to decide the best bowling figures of an innings.
All the round-robin matches (45) along with the three knockout fixtures will be considered to finalize the best spell of the tournament. However, the figures from the warm-up games are excluded.
