Alishan Sharafu (Player of the Match, ADKR): Pretty special one, didn't get many runs in the last game so it was a good chance for me to chip and make it count. It wasn't easy to time your shots but once you get set, it gets easier to bat. I think it is a great option for teams with firepower down the order. Much awaited win for us, a lot of work went into it and the boys are going to enjoy it tonight.
Sunil Narine (Captain, ADKR): Winning the key moment, batting first we had a tough start but we did well in the middle overs. The wicket quickens up a bit at night and once you get 4-5 wickets in the powerplay is it great. I think we have Russell so we want to take to the last. Give him 10-12 balls and he can make a difference. We have done a great job in the powerplay, a good collective group as go from strength to strength
Nicholas Pooran (MI Emirates captain): We definitely lost it with the bat in hand! Losing 4 wickets in the power play is not a good thing. They got a couple of big overs towards the end, the last over too went for a few, but still, we should have done better with the bat up front. It gets better after the power play, so, we should have applied ourselves better.
10:22 pm local time (11:52 pm IST): It's time for the post-match presentation!
10:15 pm local time, 11:45 pm IST: Abu Dhabi Knight Riders beat MI Emirates by 42 runs
MI Emirates: 140/6 after 20 overs Kieron Pollard: 69(49b) | Kyle Mayers: 3/25 (3 overs) Muhammad Waseem: 19(10b) | Jason Holder: 2/28 (4 overs)
The target proved to be a bit too much to ask for the MI Emirates. They had Pollard send a few big hits into the stands but then they came out pretty late. They were behind the eight ball for most of the innings and leaving a little too much for the end proved to be a costlier approach. This also happens to be ADKR's first win over MI Emirates, something they will be delighted with.
MI Emirates had a terrible powerplay to start where they lost the wickets of their openers, Kusal Perera and Muhammad Waseem cheaply. Later, Tom Banton was done followed by Nicholas Pooran's wicket. In a bid to achieve stability, Dan Mousley and Pollard took things ahead slowly but that resulted in a lack of boundaries which ended up costing Mousley his wicket. Pollard did turn the ante up, but it was all at the time when the game had slipped out of hand for them.
ADKR bowlers did a fine job with the ball in hand. Kyle Mayers shook the foundations of the MI Emirates batting so hard that they couldn't rebuilt. He picked up three wickets and his fellow Barbadian teammate, Jason Holder, helped him by striking twice. David Willey also struck in the powerplay, picking up the wicket of Tom Banton, with nothing much for spinners in this track but still doing a good job of limiting the MI Emirates batters.
Let's hear what the captains and the Player of the Match have to say.

19.6 Ali Khan to Akeal Hosein, ABU DHABI KNIGHT RIDERS PICK UP THEIR FIRST WIN OVER MI EMIRATES! Full and just outside off-stump. Driven firmly on the front foot down to the man at long-off. One run, but it is just as a mere formality!
19.5 Ali Khan to Kieron Pollard, short on off-stump! That's a change up! Pulled off the back foot to the deep square-leg area for a single. Not under control there, was Pollard.
19.4 Ali Khan to Akeal Hosein, full on middle-and-off now. Driven down to the left of long-off off the front foot for just one run.
