That's all from this match as I, Lavil, alongside Bala take your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda for all the cricketing action around the globe. SEE YA!
Tom Banton (Player of the Match, MI Emirates): The first 8-9 balls I was on zero, started going after later on. Cricket is a funny game. It was a good wicket, I struggled for the first 25 balls. I have played T20 cricket and I good understanding of the game now. I felt that I could take on the match ups against me. Nicky speaks a lot about responsibility, the left hand right hand combination and taking the match ups on is something we talk about. [Where does it rank] Right up there, the first 8-9 deliveries wasn't able to get a run but then cricket is a weird game.
Nicholas Pooran (captain, MI Emirates): [about batting] Definitely, that is something we speak about and today was a good game for us. The bowlers have been fabulous for us, today was a different challenge and they did well. Kudos to them and it was perfect to restrict them to 177. Responsibility is something we talk about in the dressing room, Tom did it well and this is what we keep stressing on about
Tim Southee (Sharjah Warriorz captain): It wasn't a bad. They restricted us towards end of the innings. We were reasonaly happy at the halfway mark. They shut down with change of pace and using one side of the pitch. When you are not taking wickets, it makes it hard. We were not able to take wickets, and Tom batted well. That does hurt, the game would have been different had we taken those changes. Avishka has been unbelievable. Long way to continue.
5:25 pm local time, 6:55 pm IST: MI Emirates beat Sharjah Warriorz by 9 wickets
MI Emirates go 5-0 up against Sharjah Warriorz in the ILT20! This has been a spotless chase from the defending champions who register their second win in the tournament and continue to stay in the top half of the table. Another loss for Sharjah Warriorz who will be scratching their heads.
MI Emirates were a bit slow to get off the blocks. That saw them lose Muhammad Waseem early on and Kusal Perera and Tom Banton taking time to build a foundation. Once that was done, both batters switched gears effortlessly, going all out against the bowlers and smashing the ball to all corners of the park. In the process, Banton scored a ton and Perera registered a half-century as they blazed home to their second win this season.
Sharjah Warriorz looked listless with the ball in hand. Barring Dilshan Madushanka, no bowler was able to pick up a wicket. Seven bowlers were used, with Adam Milne and Madushanka being the only bowlers to have not conceded in excess of 10 runs an over. They will be disappointed with their bowling efforts as well, letting boundaries flow by easily and conceding runs softly.
Let's see what the Player of the Match and the captains have to say.
17.4 Dilshan Madushanka to Tom Banton, low full toss down the leg-side. Clips it away to deep square leg. Comfortable victory for MI Emirates!
17.3 Dilshan Madushanka to Tom Banton, SIX! Gets to the three-figure mark with a big one! Short delivery angling into the body. Once again, it's too easy for the batter. Moves in and pulls the ball away over square leg. MI Emirates just one run away now
17.2 Dilshan Madushanka to Tom Banton, attempts the reverse ramp once again but fails to make contact
17.1 Dilshan Madushanka to Tom Banton, SIX! Digs it in short. Banton is seeing it like a football, just helps it over the keeper and clears the thirdman fence
Dilshan Madushanka [3-0-23-1] comes back into the attack
