Kane Williamson, New Zealand skipper- Improvement again from the last game. Pakistan is one f the best teams in the world. We were clinical with the ball and then for Finn to come out and be super aggressive and Devon complemented him very well. We were limited with the seam bowling options given the scheduling is very hectic. I suppose it’s great that there are a number of players in different roles. In Australia, it will be a bit different but we want to address every issue. On that sort of wicket, it was all about being disciplined. We knew if we forced the tough options, it will get difficult for them. One of those roles which is becoming more and more in T20 cricket, spinner bowling in the powerplay, Allen came out and hit the ball brilliantly. We know what he can do. We have seen him in the nets and it was a great contribution from him today, Cricket this time of the year is not common here but these wickets have produced some challenges. We have to keep sticking to the basics day in and day out. Different wicket and different opposition but we have to make sure we keep up the good work.

Babar Azam, Pakistan skipper- I think first innings it was a bit slow. We were not up to the mark with the batting, We will discuss our mistakes and try to improve next game. Lot of thongs we discussed. We have a day off tomorrow and will discuss a lot of things and make sure we don’t repeat the mistakes. Our batting was not upto the mark. 130 was an easy target for the Black Caps.

Michael Bracewell (Man of the Match): It's a slightly different role today bowling in the powerplay but I enjoyed bowling though it was a different challenge. I am really enjoying the role that I am playing and trying to bowl some quality overs for the team. You see the way Finn Allen tries to smoke the spinners and if you contain him in the nets, you are half-way there. I used to bowl a lot to him, also to a couple of other guys and I am really working in the nets to bowl to quality batters... I think we have to adapt to the different conditions and we have range of players with different roles we will see what the surface looks like tomorrow in afternoon. I would like to have a hit but can't complain about how those guys at the top are batting currently.

Pakistan needed early wickets to harbor hopes of defending the below-par score of 130. Naseem Shah started with an impressive opening over but the rest of the bowlers were put under immense pressure by Finn Allen as the swashbuckling right-hander made light work of the quality Pakistan attack. He struggled to time the ball initially but the couple of sixes of Shahanawaz Dahani gave him the momentum and there was no stopping him from thereon.

Conway remained unfazed at the other end and kept ticking along the scoreboard while Finn Allen continued to take the attack to the Pakistan bowlers. He came out with intent and made sure, New Zealand finish the game rather quickly. It was power-hitting at it’s very best as Allen kept clobbering the bowlers all around the Hagley Oval. Allen went on to smash 61 of 42 deliveries before perishing to Shadab Khan. Allen tried to clear the fence one more time but the leg break turned away from him and Rizwan behind the stumps did the rest but by then, New Zealand was just 14 runs away from the winning total.

In the end, it was Devon Conway and Kane Williamson who took New Zealand over the finishing line. Earlier in the day, it was the Pakistan skipper Babar Azam who won the toss and opted to bat. Rizwan and Babar got them off to a good start but once the spinners were introduced, it all went pear-shaped for Pakistan. They couldn’t time the ball and kept losing wickets at regular intervals which never really allowed the set batters to press on the accelerator.

Michael Bracewell again had a sensational day in the office, as he bagged two crucial wickets including the wicket of Babar Azam and gave away just 11 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Mitchell Santner after struggling in the initial stages, settled in nicely and also bagged a couple of wickets. Iftikhar Ahmed scored a run a ball 27 while Asif Ali remained unbeaten on 25 off 20 deliveries as Pakistan could only muster 130 in their allotted 20 overs.

Comprehensive 9-wicket victory for New Zealand at the Hagley Oval. Very comprehensive in every department of the game as they romp home by 9 wickets and with 23 deliveries to spare. The two Kiwis' openers were just too good for the Pakistan bowlers after they posted a below par 130 after batting first.
