Pitch Report
This is a belter of a pitch. There is a bit of sheen on the wicket but it is ever so slightly tacky. So, there may be a bit of movement off the seam early on. However, it is a good surface to bat on.

4:40 PM local time (8:10 PM IST): That is it from this low-scoring contest as the Pretoria Capitals dominated in all three departments of the game and hence clinched the bonus point as well against the double defending champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape. With that, I, Keshav, and my co-commentator Bidipto, bid you adieu. For now you can tune into the SA20 game between Joburg Super Kings and Durban Super Giants.
Rilee Rossouw (Pretoria Capitals captain): We started off really well with the ball and the experience there with Liam Livingstone at the end and Marques Ackerman played an unbelievable knock to take us across the line. On a normal Centurion wicket, it was a bit tricky out there, so we wanted to take it as deep as we can. They played it so well to try and push for that bonus point. (On seamers early on) That's something we have had good transparency over the first game. We were worried aboutt our line and lengths and our bowlers came up and performed and put it in the right spot today and asked the right questions. The credit has go to the bowlers to really, really focus on their job today and executing is the main thing and they did fantastically well. With the win that we got today with the bonus point, it's fantastic to see supporters in the stands. We need to talk about these weekday games. Nonetheless, any supporter we get, we do wanna represent them and hopefully we can win for them.
Aiden Markram (Sunrisers Eastern Cape captain): We're definitely not going to blame it on the toss. We are a much better team than what our performances have suggested. We need to regroup now and get back to winning ways. We have some fine players there and we do back them to get the job done. I'm not a big fan of issuing directives to the rest of the team as to how to play, but we will discuss things and not throw the towel in.
Eathan Bosch (Player of the Match, 2/18 from 4 overs): The pitch was under the covers for a couple of days. So we got the help from that. But of course, we bowled in the right areas and got all the wickets that we could up at the top. The guys were a little bit disappointed at losing the first game, so it is great to get a win here!
4:26 pm local time (7:56 pm IST): It is now time for the post-match presentation!
4:13 PM Local time (7:43 PM IST): Pretoria Capitals win the game by six wickets with 24 balls remaining and hence get the bonus point as well.
Pretoria Capitals get the first win of their campaign and that too in some style by getting a bonus point. They were the better team in all the three departments of the game today. However, their chase had some hiccups as they were 61/4 after 9 overs.
Marques Ackerman and Liam Livingstone took some time in the middle after the fall of four wickets and batted patiently to not lose the plot in this low-scoring game. Following the wicket of Rossouw, both of them batted just over five runs per over for four overs. In the next two overs, they smacked two boundaries apiece to accelerate the chase a bit.
This slight change of gears left them with 15 runs needed in the 16th over to get the bonus point. And it did have a slight climactic end with Ackerman smacking three boundaries in the over. Started the over with a dot ball and then smacked a maximum over mid-wicket. With 9 needed off 4 deliveries, he pulled it hard to deep backward square-leg where the fielder was fidgety in preventing a boundary. There could have been a single but Ackerman slipped in the middle of the track and it turned out to be a dot ball. He missed out the next delivery too. The equation to get the bonus point now stood at 9 runs from 2 deliveries and Ackerman smashed a boundary and a six to get the job done.
Will Jacks provided a decent start to his team with consistent boundaries in the powerplay, before edging to deep backward square leg at the team score of 49 runs. Rilee Rossouw smacked a boundary and a six but he too departed soon after. Ackerman and Livingstone held the responsibility to take the Capitals to second position in the table with 7 points from three games.
Among the bowlers, Richard Gleeson picked two wickets, however, he conceded runs at an economy of over 10 runs per over as his pace aided the batters.
And Ackerman gets his side the bonus point by hitting a biggie over mid-on.

15.6 Marco Jansen to Marques Ackerman, PRETORIA CAPITALS DO IT IN STYLE! THEY FINISH IT OFF WITH A SIX ANS COLLECT THE BONUS POINT! In the slot and slow around off-stump. Ackerman got in position by clearing the front leg, bent down low and clubbed it over the man at wide long-on to pick up a maximum and end the match!
15.5 Marco Jansen to Marques Ackerman, FOUR RUNS! Full toss on leg-stump. Ackerman gets across yet again and clips it into the gap at long-leg for a boundary!
