48 hours of rain, the sun is out and it feels sticky. The players will have to manage their hydration. There was a lot of live green grass earlier, but that is all gone. We've seen a lot of turn in the recent matches as well, it's been under covers for the last 48 hours - the pitch. Back of a length around the 7 yard line will be ideal. The wicket is not as hard as it was. All the captains have won the toss and bowled first, need to have the batsmen driving, bowl fuller and get them to drive. Commentary

Washington Freedom continue to be clinical and pick up yet another comprehensive win. They extend their lead at the top of the points table while also boosting their net run rate. Meanwhile, LAKR slip further. Their net run rate worsens due to this performance and they are now at the 5th spot. Below them are the Seattle Ocras, who have played two matches less. In their remaining two fixtures, they would need to put in special performances in order to have a chance at making it to the next round. But will they be able to pick themselves up after this demoralising loss? Well, only time will tell. And rest assured, we would be there to call the action. Steve Smith [Washington Freedom Captain]: It was good. We were looking for a complete performance, it was close to it. We bowled well, put them under pressure. And I think it was a dominant chase. Maxwell was not supposed to bowl but then with the lefty coming in, I decided to slip him in. It was all gut feel. Travis Head takes the game on and takes the pressure off you. It is a nice partnership going with him.

Sunil Narine [Los Angeles Knight Riders Captain]: Wether you win the toss or lose the toss, you still have to bat well and put the score on the board. Also, we did not pick any wickets in the powerplay. We have got to back the players. They are here for a reason. They are still hungry. Hopefully we will comeback well in the next game. We need to work on getting early wickets.

Glenn Maxwell [3/15, Player of the Match]: Fortunate with the conditions. Also with how Saurabh has been going at the top. Slightly different conditions than the IPL. A little bit of spin, a little bit of uncertainty. I was looking to slip in a couple of tight overs. But I got a few wickets. Good that I wasn't just cannon fodder today.

Travis Head, Washington Freedom: The pitch was on the slower side, more spin than the previous game. Nice to get a few away and get a win. Nice to play the full fixture, we've been fielding more than we're batting. Nice position to be in. With the spin, tried to set up, pick targets, nice to get a few out the middle. Good to feed off the crowd, looking forward for the rest of the tournament.

Washington Freedom continue their undefeated streak. It has been a clinical performance from the table toppers. They were better than their opponents in all three departments and not only add another 'W' to their tally, but also get a big boost in the NRR column having chased the target down with 4 overs to spare.

The victory was set up by the bowlers. Saurabh Netravalkar and Glenn Maxwell picked up early wickets and put the Knight Riders under pressure early. LAKR were tottering at 18/4 at one stage. The good work continued even when the support bowlers came on. Steve Smith rotated them around nicely and set attacking fields throughout.

LAKR not only seemed to lack the attacking instinct - which manifested in them sending Miller at 7 and Russell at 8 - but were also guilty of playing some bad shots. The target of 130 never seemed enough.

Whatever little hope that the Knight Riders seemed to carry on to the field in the second innings was soon thrashed by Travis Head. They bowled short at him and the southpaw did not hold back. He clubbed around half a dozen sixes on his way to a quick fifty. The two dropped catches did not help the Knight Riders either.

While, the result already seemed like a forgone conclusion by the time Head was dismissed, Smith's solid batting through the middle overs ensured that his team crossed the line without any further hiccups.
