The pacers have bowled more here at this venue, than any other stadium at the Caribbean over the last 3 years. It is very sunny and hardly any wind. We have not seen any rain recently. The other impact of the wind is that it reduces the dew. It's the same pitch that was used for the last game surface which can assist the fast bowlers. Rovman Powell (West Indies Captain) : I could spot more commitment among the group today. All guys played well today. We are trying to tinker with the selection to get the right combination. Everyone is encouraged to do well since the selectors are all over different parts of the country. We were forced to use only five bowlers today. The toss has played a crucial role. Whoever won the toss ended up having a massive advantage throughout the match and win the game as well. As I said earlier, 3-2 is better than 4-1 so we will be charged up to show the fans that we value their support and hopefully end up with another fine performance tomorrow.

Jos Buttler (England Captain) : We got off to a good start. They played exceptionally well and put us under pressure. We need to take care of Liam Livingstone's workload, not ideal to see how he had to return to the dressing room. I think wrist spinners are wicket-takers in T20Is. Rehan brought us back in the game by creating chances. He is going to play a big part in the future. That was particularly heartening to see. It was a good performance by us, but West Indies put up a good show and chased it down. Overall, great to be a part of this match.

Shai Hope (Player of the Match): We had to assess. We struggled with that in the first three games, losing early wickets but it was important to assess. Just need to do what the team needs, different situations need different approach but happy to do what the team needs. To be honest, I like to bat in the middle. I have been a run-out a few times, might need to have a look at that.

Highest successful chase ever at this venue! Allow us to begin from the start of the chase.

John Turner made his England debut in the ODI series earlier this tour and he would have been keen on making it a memorable outing as he replaced Jofra Archer for this fixture. He has a degree in finance and economics and almost dismissed Evin Lewis in the last ball of the opening over of the chase. But the left handed West Indian opener deposited Turner for a maximum in the first ball of the pacer's 2nd over.

Saqib Mahmood made history earlier in this series by becoming the bowler to pick up the highest wickets (8) in the powerplay overs for England in a T20I bilateral series. He began with a maiden over against Shai Hope.

After a couple of silent overs to begin the chase, 25 runs came from the 3rd over of the chase with 2 sixes, 3 fours as Hope began giving a solid case for him to be included in his side's T20 plans moving ahead. It was as if the maiden over never happened! Shai Hope showed his quality. After a plethora of dot balls to begin his innings, he played a pivotal role in ensuring his team bring up the 50 in exactly the same time as their opposition had taken earlier in the day - 4.2 overs.

Curran and Mousley were summoned by Buttler to complete the last couple of overs in the powerplay, and they leaked 12 and 13 runs respectively. The hosts were 69 for no loss at the end of the field restrictions. When Rehan Ahmed was introduced into the attack in the 7th over, the onslaught continued as Hope brought up his half century from only 23 balls.

Lewis joined the party soon as the opening pair reached their century stand halfway through the 8th over. Livingstone was dispatched for 30 runs in his opening over where Lewis deposited massive sixes, one of which went as far as 105 metres. The hosts scored more than 62% of the runs required (136) within the first 45% of the allotted overs (9). 53 runs came from the 8th and 9th over.

And that's when the chase experienced a derailment. 3 wickets fell in 3 balls, including Shai Hope getting run out for the second straight occasion as the England players came roaring back into the contest.

Powell played the captain's knock from that point by regularly finding the boundary ropes and ensuring his side make steady progress towards their first win of the series. The required run rate went below run a ball with 6 overs to go. It has to be a record of sorts when Powell got out - it meant that both skippers faced the same number of deliveries and scored the same number of runs in the match - Buttler and Powell were dismissed for 38 runs from 23 balls.

It was a see-saw till the very end but Rutherford closed it out with a couple of sixes in the penultimate over. Presentations to follow!

18.6 Dan Mousley to Sherfane Rutherford, SIX AND WEST INDIES WIN, Rutherford finishes off the job with consecutive sixes and West Indies complete the highest run chase at St.Lucia. It was a friendly full toss and Rutherford needed no second invitation to park it into the stands over mid-wicket.
