At the 2022 NFL Combine Event, Chenal put up a prospect grade of 6.14 and rated to potentially develop into a starter. He also put up a total score of 86 finishing third among the LBs at the Event. Chenal was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He won the Super Bowl LVII in his rookie year recording 35 total tackles. In his second season in the NFL, Chenal played a significant role in helping the Chiefs with their second consecutive Super Bowl (LVIII) as he forced a fumble and blocked a point against the 49ers.

Growing up in West Sweden, Chenal attended Grantsburg High School. He was a versatile player who could play both running back and linebacker. Chenal was named as the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year of Wisconsin in his senior year. He committed to his home state playing for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2019 to 2021. Chenal had a breakout 2021 season as he was a First-team All-American and All-Big Ten. He was also named as the Big Ten Linebacker of the Year in 2021.
