The Texas native played four years of college football at the University of Oklahoma before entering the NFL where he is a Super Bowl winner along with other accolades such as two First-Team All-Pro selections, two Second-Team All-Pro selections, and six Pro-Bowl appearances as of February 2025.
Who are Lane Johnson’s parents?
Lane Johnson is the son of David Johnson and Ray Ann Carpentier. He was born on May 8, 1990, in Groveton, Texas.
Lane Johnson Mother
Ray Ann Carpentier is the mother of Lane Johnson. His mother was very much into ballet until the age of 18 years but it was the fear of facing an audience on stage which prevented her from progressing. As for her career, things were not so easy. First of all, she had to do odd jobs such as cleaning houses and mowing the lawn to earn money and put herself in college as per the Inquirer. She raised her son by herself as Johnson’s parents divorced when he was very young. In the end, she became a social worker acting as a therapist for inmates.
Life took a drastic turn for her as she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma sometime in 2022. While the initial reports stated that it was stage IV cancer, a second opinion removed the fear. (via the Inquirer)
Lane Johnson Father
Johnson’s father is David Johnson who used to be a bull rider when he was young and even named his son’s middle name Lane as a reference to Lane Frost who was a bull rider who died some months before Lane Johnson was born. David relates his son’s football being similar to bull riding in the sense that both are physical sports and players take part irrespective of injuries.
David had a pacemaker installed at around the start of 2023 as per Enquirer. For Johnson Sr. though, it was nothing to worry about, and went about the whole ordeal as if it was nothing more than a routine checkup. However, Johnson Sr.'s love for bull riding took a back seat when his son was born and he then turned his attention to construction work for the highway department. (via the Inquirer)
