Lane Johnson is an American football player who plays as the right offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles franchise of the NFL. Johnson is a Super Bowl LII winner with the Eagles, a 2-time First-Team All-Pro, a 2-time Second-Team All-Pro, and a five-time Pro-Bowler. The big 6’6”, 325-pound tackle has been one of the mainstays of the dominant Eagles team for the past decade or so. Johnson was born in Groveton, Texas, on May 8, 1990, and attended Groveton High School where he played on the football and track teams. In football, he started out playing the quarterback position. After passing out from high school, Johnson went to the University of Oklahoma where he played for four years on the Oklahoma Sooners football team.
Johnson is not the typical NFL player who starts in one position or two positions in high school and then develops into a specialist in college. While playing for the Sooners, Johnson played as a tight end and defensive lineman before being converted to an offensive lineman in his third year. However, despite playing the offensive tackle position so late in college, the Texas native found no difficulty in becoming one of the top players in his position as a professional.
