Saquon Barkley is an American football running back for the Philadelphia Eagles as of the 2024 NFL season. He was originally selected by the New York Giants with the 2nd overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. After setting multiple NFL and team records, Barkley was voted the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and made it to the Pro Bowl in 2018. He suffered injuries in the 2020 season, but in 2022 he was once again selected to the Pro Bowl. After the 2023 season, Barkley was a free agent and agreed to a three-year contract with the Eagles in March 2024.

Raised in Coplay, Pennsylvania, Barkley went to Whitehall High School in Pennsylvania, and from sophomore to senior year, he had 3,646 rushing yards for 63 touchdowns. Being a four-star prospect, Barkley received multiple offers but chose Pennsylvania State University in 2015-2017. Before skipping his senior year to join the NFL, he spent three seasons setting numerous school records for offensive production. He won numerous national and Big Ten Conference honors and recognition in 2017, placing third in the Maxwell Award voting and finishing fourth in the Heisman Trophy. He broke Penn State records for most all-purpose career yards (5,538), most career rushing touchdowns (43), and most career receiving yards (1,157).
