The New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams was born in East Palo Alto, California, and attended Palo Alto Senior High School in neighboring Palo Alto. The Green Bay Packers took him in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft with the 53rd overall pick. A standout player since his school days, the 6 ft 1 in wideout led his school to the CIF State Championship while playing both as a wide receiver and cornerback. The 3-time First-team All-Pro committed to California State University, Fresno, and played for the Bulldogs from 2011 to 2013. In his 3 years with the team, he was First-team All-MW twice and honored with All-American twice. Furthermore, he was also the recipient of the Paul Warfield Trophy in 2015. He concluded his collegiate career with 3,031 receiving yards and 38 touchdowns. His statistics have improved every season since entering the league in 2014. After failing to reach 500 passing yards in his first two seasons as a Packer, Adams almost touched the 1,000-yard mark in the 2015-16 season (997). However, the 2018 season was the first time he officially crossed the 1,000-yard mark as he caught 111 receptions for 1,386 yards. It was also the first time he had crossed the triple-digit in the receptions category. His best years came in 2021 and 2022 when he broke the 1,500-yard mark in the passing category twice. Since 2020, Davante has caught at least 100 receptions every year as of 2024. By the end of the 2023 season, Adams had accumulated more than 10,700 receiving yards and 95 touchdowns. After spending his last two years in Las Vegas, Adams was traded to the New York Jets on 15th October 2024, where he reunited with his former teammate Aaron Rodgers, with whom he played for his first eight years in Green Bay.
