IPL 2025 Orange Cap
The Orange Cap is among the various individual accolades awarded during the Indian Premier League (IPL). It recognizes the batter with the most runs scored throughout the entire season. Introduced in 2008, the IPL Orange Cap recognizes consistency and dominance in batting throughout a given IPL schedule. The player leading the run-scorers list gets to wear an orange cap while fielding, a visible reminder of their achievement. In the case of two batters scoring the same runs, the batter with a better strike rate is awarded the cap.
The IPL Orange Cap has seen some legendary names etch their mark. Rules for Orange Cap in IPL 2025
- The Orange Cap in IPL 2024 will be awarded to the leading run-scorer of the IPL season.
- The batter who holds the Orange Cap during the season is allowed to wear it while on the field during the games, as long as he has the most runs in the tournament.
- In an event where two or more batters are tied on runs, the batter with a better strike rate is awarded the Orange Cap.
- When a batter from the opposition surpasses the current Orange Cap holder's total, the previous holder may continue to wear the Cap until the end of that specific innings.
