Indian T20 League 2025 Schedule
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the IPL schedule 2025 for all the matches on February 16, 2025. The 18th edition of IPL commenced with a clash between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 22, 2025. Eden Gardens, Kolkata, hosted the first match of IPL 2025, which RCB won by 7 wickets.
Similar to the previous seasons, ten teams will compete for the IPL title, and the same rules will be in effect. 14 league games total—7 at home and 7 away—will be played by each team. The playoffs will be contested by the top 4 teams from the IPL 2025 standings. The playoffs will be played on May 29, 30, June 01, and 03 after the IPL announced the revised schedule of the remainder of the IPL 2025. The IPL got suspended after 57 league stage matches were completed, due to India-Pakistan political tensions escalating.
May 27, 2025, is the last scheduled day of the group stage clashes. The last matchday will have two matches: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will host the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
IPL 2025 Start Date
The first match of the IPL 2025 season was played between the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 22. The three-time champions hosted the encounter at the Eden Gardens. RCB won the game by 7 wickets, chasing down the target of 175 in just 16.2 overs.

IPL 2025 Groups
Like the previous season, the 2025 edition of the IPL will feature 10 franchises, and the same format will be used to distribute 14 league games among these teams.
The first group comprises Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings. Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants constitute the second group.
The teams in the same group will play against each other twice, while the IPL teams in opposite groups will play one match against each other.
IPL 2025 Playoff Schedule
Qualifier 1 will be played on 29 May 2025, Qualifier 2 on 01 June 2025, and the Eliminator is scheduled on 30 May 2025.
Four teams will qualify for the playoffs, where the top two teams in the points table will battle it out in Qualifier 1. The Eliminator will see the teams who finished 3rd and 4th in the league battle for a place in Qualifier 2. The winner of Qualifier 1 will progress to the Final, while the winner of Eliminator will meet the loser of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2. The Final will be played between the winner of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2.
IPL 2025 final date
The final of the IPL 2025 will be played on June 03, 2025. The venue for the final has not been announced yet.
