NXT Deadline or DEADL1NE is an annual live streaming event organised by WWE. The second edition of the event took place on Saturday, Decemeber 9, 2023 at the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match
NXT Deadline is the home to NXT’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match. It is contested between five wrestlers, the winner of which punches his ticket to a match for the NXT Championship. The Iron Survivor Challenge lasts for 25 minutes. Two wrestlers start the match and another enteres every five minute. The goal is to score the most points.
On the November 7 episode of NXT, Dijak defeated Tyler Bate to qualify for the match. Over the next two weeks, Trick Williams defeated Joe Coffey and Josh Briggs defeated former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes to enter the match. The following week, former champion Bron Breakker defeated Eddie Thorpe to qualify for the match.

Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match
Five women will enter the Iron Survivor Challenge Match at NXT Deadline for an opportunity of the NXT Women’s Championship. On the November 7 episode of NXT, Tiffany Stratton qualified for the match by beating Fallon Henley. Over the next two weeks, Lash Legend defeated the former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and Blair Davenport defeated Thea Hail to punch their tickets for the match. The following week, Kelani Jordan and Fallon Henley got their tickets to the event as well.

Roxanne Perez vs. Kiana James
Roxanne Perez and Kiana James are all set to take on each other at NXT Deadline in a Steel Cage Match. Both superstars are former NXT Tag Team Champions, though not together. They competed in a first-ever Steel Cage match at NXT Deadline, which James won.
NXT North American Championship Match
Since winning the NXT North American Championship, “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio has been making quite a few appearances on NXT and has been defending his title here. He is booked to defend his title at NXT Deadline as well. At the event, he was scheduled to face Wes Lee but the challenger got injured and was replaced by Dragon Lee. Dragon Lee defeated Dominik Mysterio after a back and forth battle to win the NXT North American Championship.
NXT Championship Match
Ilja Dragunov won the NXT Championship on September 30 at NXT No Mercy. After the event, he has been at the target of Baron Corbin. The Andre the Giant Battle Royal winner has been eyeing on the NXT Championship and attacked Dragunov after the latter defeated Hayes at Halloween Havoc. Corbin then defeated Wes Lee and his challenge for the title was accepted by Dragunov later that night. Dragunov won the match at Deadline to retain the gold.
Carmelo Hayes vs. Lexis King
Carmelo Hayes lost his NXT Championship to Ilja Dragunov a few months ago. Since then, he has faced off against the likes of Bron Breakker and Dragunov. At the same time, Brian Pillman Jr. made his return to NXT under the name Lexis King and defeated Dante Chen at Halloween Havoc. The path of the two crossed then setting up a match at Deadline. Hayes won the match at Deadline.
NXT Deadline History
WarGames had been the premier theme based match of NXT which they organised around November. However, it moved to the main roster in 2022 and was merged with Survivor Series, seemingly dropping the traditional 10-man match for some time. In response, NXT introduced another theme-based match in 2022, known as the Iron Survivor Challenge.
It is contested between five wrestlers. It is a 25 minute match, started by two wrestlers. Another wrestler keep joining the match in every five minute. The goal is to score most points to win the match. One can earn point by scoring a pinfall, or submission or getting someone disqualified. The one at the losing end of a point has to sit in the penalty box for 90 seconds. In case of a tie, a sudden deathmatch continues between the wrestlers at tie.
The winner is called the Iron Survivor and gets a future NXT Championship or NXT Women’s Championship match. To organise the Iron Survivor Challenge, NXT introduced a new live streaming event, known as NXT Deadline, which first took place in 2022.
NXT Deadline 2023: Date, Time and Venue
The 2023 edition of NXT Deadline will air live from Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It will take place on Saturday, December 9, falling in line with WWE's practice of organizing most of its events on Saturdays, a pattern it has been following since last year.
This is the first NXT Deadline following WWE’s sale to the Endeavour group and rebranding into TKO Holdigs alongside UFC.. The start timing of the event in different countries was as follows:

NXT Deadline 2023 Stadium
Total Mortgage Arena is a multi purpose indoor arena in downtown Bridgeport, Connecticut. It is the home to New York Islander’s AHL Farm Team, the Bridgeport Islanders. The arena was built in 2001 at a cost of around $57 Million. At present, it has a seating capacity of around 10000 fans for a pro-wrestling show.
