Pitch Report
There is a good covering of grass here. The faster bowlers should thrive on this wicket. The bowlers therefore have to do a job here for their captains. No reason why James Vince did what he did winning the toss!

10:15 PM Local time (11:45 PM IST): What a thrilling game it was between the Giants and the Emirates as both the sides gave the other team multiple chances to get back in the game as a result of their mistakes. But in the end, it was the Gulf Giants that won the game and added two points ahead of their name to keep the playoff hopes alive. For now, I, Keshav, on behalf of my colleague, Bidipto, bid you a goodbye.
Mark Adair is the Player of the Match. Here's what he has to say: Delighted to get across the line. Aayan coming at the back gave it a big hit to finish. (On his bowling) It was basics again. Tom Curran coming in brough a good experience there. (On his catches) You sort of go underneath them and then they stick. (Because of the dark sky) it swirls a little bit because there's always wind here. (What he thought when he came out to bat) Two boundaries and two boundaries to win the game. Thankfully they did it at the other end.
James Vince (Gulf Giants captain): Happy, and of course, relieved to have won! Not the most convincing, but we are hopefully back to winning ways. There were a couple of games that could have gone our way, so it kind of evens out. They batted well, Tom Banton and Kieron Pollard, but we came back with wickets towards the end and of course, did what we needed to with the bat.
Nicholas Pooran (MI Emirates captain): Tough one, definitely tough one today! We were not disciplined, neither with the ball nor with the bat. (On withdrawing the run out appeal) I think it was important not to claim that wicket as run out, before getting more clarity on things, so we reversed our call. We have to be more consistent and understand how to go about things, given the size of the boundaries. Also, we need to keep our emotions in check going forward!

9:50 PM Local time (11:20 PM IST): Gulf Giants win by two wickets
Match Summary: Gulf Giants: 155/8 (20 overs) | MI Emirates: 151/6 (20 overs)
Gerhard Erasmus: 37 (28) | Fazalhaq Farooqi: 3/34 (4) Tom Banton: 56 (39) | Daniel Worrall: 2/19 (4)
What an absolute drama this game was. The Gulf Giants attain two more points to keep them alive in this campaign. And these two points have come with a whole load of hiccups during their chase. At one point when Gerhard Erasmus and Tom Alsop were batting, the Giants looked comfortably cruising towards the target, however, Tom Alsop's poor shot selection caused a trickle effect and gave the MI Emirates a chance to creep back in the game.
When Tom Alsop was dismissed by Muhammad Rohid Khan, the required rate was just above 7 runs per over. However, the wicket of the other set batter, Gerhard Erasmus an over later, made the game interesting as the momentum shifted towards the MI Emirates. A couple of tight overs forced the wicket of Shimron Hetmyer who handed a catch to Rohid at short fine. With the dismissal of Ibrahim Zadran soon after and the Giants were in deep trouble.
Tom Curran and Mark Adair formed a small partnership towards the end to not let the required rate climb up. Nonetheless, there was some drama towards the end of the 18th over as Tom Curran took a single and then casually walked out of the crease even before the ball was called dead and was run out by Nicholas Pooran. The TV umpire adjudged it out but just when TC started walking to the hut, Pooran called him back in a display of the spirit of the game.
With 11 runs needed of the final over, Dan Mousley bowled a high full toss in the body line of Aayan Afzal Khan who whipped it for a maximum to deep square-leg. With a run needed of two deliveries, Mousley castled Tom Curran. With a run needed of the last ball, Zubair whacked a boundary through mid-wicket to take his side across the line on the final delivery.
Muhammad Rohid Khan was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets at an economy of 3.75 runs per over. Fazalhaq Farooqi took three wickets, one more than Rohid but not without bowling some loose deliveries that were smacked to the fence by the Giants batters. Moreover, it was surprising that Akeal Hosein bowled just an over in the game.

19.6 Dan Mousley to Zohaib Zubair, GULF GIANTS WIN A CLIFFHANGER IN ABU DHABI! Flatter full toss on off-stump. Zubair pressed forward and heaved it between the fielders at mid-wicket and wide mid-on for a boundary! The dug-out of the Giants erupted, as the batters in the middle were absolutely delighted! Got to feel for Mousley too!

19.5 Dan Mousley to Tom Curran, BOWLED! WHAT A TIME TO TAKE A WICKET! A yorker fired in at the base of off-stump. Curran went for the slap to wide mid-off from deep in the crease but missed. The ball clipped the outer half of the off stick and sent Curran packing!
