Arik Armstead is an American professional defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL. A former standout at Oregon, Armstead showcased his talent in both football and basketball during his college years. Drafted in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, he quickly made his name in the professional football.

Armstead was born in Sacramento, California, on November 15, 1993 and played high school football at Pleasant Grove High School in Elk Grove, California where he ended up with over 120 tackles and 7.5 sacks. Being much more inclined towards sports than academics, Armstead continued his development of the sport by joining the University of Oregon and playing on the Oregon Ducks football team. After spending all first nine years of his professional career with the 49ers, Armstead signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars on March 15, 2024, after his former team released him just a couple of days earlier.
