Carey Mecole Hardman Jr, commonly known as Mecole Hardman Jr., is an American football wide receiver and return specialist for the Kansas City Chiefs as of the 2024 NFL season. The Kansas City Chiefs selected him as the 56th overall pick in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He was born on the March 12, 1998. With Kansas City, he won Super Bowl LIV, Super Bowl LVII, and Super Bowl LVIII. Hardman scored the game-winning walk-off touchdown in overtime of Super Bowl LVIII. In addition to being the longest kickoff return of the 2019 NFL season, his 104-yard score is the third-longest in Chiefs history according to the Chiefs website. In the same season, he scored an 80+ yard receiving touchdown and returned a kick over 100 yards for a touchdown, making him the fourth player in NFL history and the first rookie to do so. The Georgia native committed to his hometown team Georgia Bulldogs in 2016. During his sophomore year with the Georgia Bulldogs, Hardman scored a noteworthy touchdown against Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship. He had 59 receptions for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns during his career between 2016 and 2018 as per Sports Reference. Hardman also attended the Elbert County High School where he played as both quarterback and defensive back. He has totaled more than 2,300 receiving yards and 1,892 yards as a returner in his pro career as of January 2025 (via ESPN).
