C. J. Stroud, short for Coleridge Bernard Stroud IV, is an American football player who plays as the starting quarterback for the Houston Texans. Stroud was born on 3 October 2001 at Rancho Cucamonga, California. He played as quarterback for Ohio State and held many of their records. Stroud was picked 2nd overall in the NFL Draft 2023 by the Houston Texans.
Since early in his school career, he dominated the opposition with his pinpoint accuracy and overall skills. Coming out of Rancho Cucamonga High School, Stroud was already a 5-star recruit. In 2020, during his freshman season, he played as a backup to future NFL quarterback Justin Fields.
