Khalil Shakir, a wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills, was chosen by the team with the 148th overall choice in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. During his three seasons with the Bills, as of Week 15 of the 2024 season, he has played in 44 games, starting 20 of them, and caught 120 receptions for 1,546 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He was Buffalo's leading receiver at the beginning of the 2024 season, catching his first 17 targets to beat the previous season's record of 30 consecutive catches and to surpass Michael Thomas's prior mark of 27 consecutive catches.

Shakir attended California's Vista Murrieta High School in the US. He made ten appearances as a true freshman, including one start, after joining Boise State University in 2018. He has one rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown on 16 receptions for 170 yards. In 2021, his final season at Boise State, he caught 77 passes for 1,117 yards and seven touchdowns.

Khalil’s father, Attiyyah, said to FoxRochester, "I kind of pay attention to what's going on and just let him know. We're here to support him and we love him, mostly—but yeah, he does a bit more from me."

Attiyyah was the first to identify his son's greatest talent. He said, "When they were younger, I threw the ball to them a few times, by the time he was 6 or 7, he was catching it and I was like, 'Whoa, you're pretty good at catching the ball, buddy.'"
