Russell Wilson is an American football quarterback who has been playing in the National Football League (NFL) since 2012. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 29, 1988. Wilson was quite athletic since his younger days and played baseball along with football. In fact, he also played baseball for North Carolina State University until 2010.

Russell Wilson started his career with the Seattle Seahawks in 2012. Both Wilson and the team started seeing immediate success and in his second year in the league, he was instrumental in the team lifting the Lombardi trophy.

In 2019, he received a significant bump in his contract and was the highest-paid player in the league at that time earning $140 million with the Seahawks. Several key incidents soured his relationship with the franchise and in 2022, Russell was traded to the Denver Broncos. The Broncos had high expectations after acquiring Wilson from the Seahawks, however after just two seasons in Denver, it has become apparent that Wilson is not the answer to their problems.

After parting ways with the Broncos, Wilson signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2024 NFL season.
