Aaron Ekblad, born on February 7, 1996, is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate captain for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Ekblad began his hockey journey with the Sun County Panthers minor midget AAA team in Belle River, Ontario where he showcased his skills and talents. He demonstrated remarkable performance by scoring 34 points in 30 regular-season games and contributed an additional 21 points in 18 playoff games, leading the team as their captain to an alliance championship victory.

The following season, Ekblad was selected first overall in the 2011 OHL entry draft by the Barrie Colts where he spent three seasons playing major junior hockey. Ekblad’s ascent continued as he was chosen first overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Florida Panthers on June 27, 2014. Following this, he inked an entry-level NHL contract on September 3, securing a three-year deal with the Panthers.

Ekblad made his debut on October 9, 2014, against the Tampa Bay Lighting in a 3-2 overtime loss. He notched his first career goal on November 1 against Steve Mason of the Philadelphia Flyers in a 2-1 victory. His rookie season with the Panthers concluded with 12 goals scored and 27 assists recorded over 81 games. Additionally, he was the recipient of the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league's top rookie while making the NHL All-Star game and the All-Rookie team all in the same season.

Aaron Ekblad invested in a three-story residence situated in Fort Lauderdale’s prestigious Las Olas Isles, acquiring it for a total of $5.7 million in 2017. Wood accents and tile flooring adorn the modern open floor layout, featuring a marble kitchen, wine fridge, and a spacious living area accentuated by glass elements.

An elevator provides access to the three-story structure, ascending to a home theater and chic club room equipped with a wet bar. From here, one can step out onto a covered deck that extends across the rear of the property, providing views of the entertainer’s backyard showcasing a swimming pool, spa, and putting green. Comprising five bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms, the 7,400- square-foot interior is complemented by a third-story balcony offering yet another picturesque space. The residence has been listed for sale at $6.45 million by Ekblad.
