Mitchell Marner is a professional Canadian ice hockey right winger in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on May 5, 1997, in Markham, Ontario, Marner was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2015 NHL Entry draft and currently serves as an alternate captain for the team.

Marner made his NHL debut during the 2016-17 season and contributed 19 goals throughout his rookie season. Despite tough competition, he was named the NHL's Rookie of the Month in January 2017. The subsequent seasons saw Marner post impressive numbers which ultimately led to him being named the Maple Leafs’ alternate captain during the 2019-20 season.

The following seasons saw Marner attain continuous success. In the 2022-23 season, he broke records enroute to his 23-game point streak which included 11 goals and 23 assists. He finished the season with 99 points in just 80 games. His performance did not go unnoticed and was nominated for the Frank J. Selke Trophy, given to the best defensive player in the league.
