Matthew Tkachuk is an American professional ice hockey forward and alternate captain for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Calgary Flames as the sixth overall pick in the 2016 NHL entry draft. Tkachuk, the son of former NHL player Keith Tkachuk. He made his NHL debut in the 2016-17 season and scored his first NHL goal against the Buffalo Sabres in a 4-3 overtime win. Tkachuk recorded 48 points in his rookie season and finished seventh in voting for the Calder Memorial Trophy. His performances in the subsequent seasons led to him being named as the alternate captain of the team.

In the 2021-22 and 2022-23 NHL seasons, Tkachuk ranked among the league's top ten point-scorers, registering 104 and 109 points, respectively. In 2023, he was named a finalist for the NHL's Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's most valuable player. Internationally, Tkachuk has represented the United States in various competitions, earning a bronze medal at the 2016 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. Notably, Tkachuk won his first Stanley Cup for the Panthers as an alternate captain in the 2023-2024 season.
