Sam Bennett’s Fiancee
Sam Bennett’s fiancée is Zoe Zeleny, as per NHLPA. She has been volunteering at the Humane Society of Broward County for over a year. Together, Sam and Zoe launched Benny’s Buddies, a campaign supporting the adoption of shelter animals. For every goal Sam scores this season, they cover the adoption fees for an animal in need. The couple has two adopted pets—a dog named Billie and a cat named Gracie. Zoe enjoys spending time at the shelter, interacting with animals and volunteers.
In an interview with the NHLPA, Zoe said that she loves animals and that both she and Bennett grew up in a house with pets. When talking about volunteering, she said,
“I just love being there. The dogs make you laugh and smile because they are so happy to see you. Every animal has such a different personality, and it just melts your heart. It makes you want to give them all the love while you’re there.
She further said,
“Also, the staff and other volunteers are so sweet to be around. There is a huge turnover of animals, but somehow, they always seem to know all their names and adore each one.”
