Connor McDavid is a Canadian center and captain of the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected as the first overall pick by the Oilers in the 2015 NHL entry draft. McDavid, who concluded his junior hockey career with the Erie Otters, earned a spot on the NHL All-Rookie Team and was a Calder Memorial Trophy finalist despite suffering a fractured clavicle that sidelined him for three months in his rookie season.

Continuing his exceptional performance in the 2016-17 season, McDavid not only recorded 100 points but also became the youngest player to win the Art Ross Trophy for leading the NHL in scoring. He won the Hart Memorial Trophy, the Ted Lindsay Award, and a spot on the NHL First All-Star Team the same season. He has also been an NHL All-Star Game selection seven times, as of April 2025.
