Jake Oettinger, also known as "Otter" and "Phenomenotter", is an American goaltender for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL). Oettinger was drafted as the 26th overall pick by the Stars in the 2017 NHL entry draft. He made his NHL debut against the Vegas Golden Knights on September 8, 2020. In 2024, he earned a spot in the NHL All-Star Game.
Prior to the start of his NHL career, Oettinger played college hockey for the Boston University Terriers, representing Boston University. He was named to the All-Hockey East Rookie Team in 2017 and All-Hockey East Second Team All-Star the same year as well. Oettinger was also named to the Hockey East All-Tournament Team in 2018 and won the William Flynn Tournament Most Valuable Player award the same year.
