Brad Marchand is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger, playing for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League. He was drafted by the Bruins in the third round as the 71st overall pick during the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and has spent his entire professional career with the Bruins. Since debuting with them in the 2009-10 season, he has gone on to break many league and Bruins' records. Some of his achievements include winning the Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011, earning NHL All-Star Game and NHL First All-Star Team recognition. Within the Bruins' organization, he has earned top honors such as the Seventh Player Award, Elizabeth C. Dufresne Trophy, John P. Bucyk Award, Eddie Shore Award, and the Bruins Three Stars Award. He also holds the record for receiving the most suspensions in the league. In March 2025, Marchand was traded to the Panthers after playing for the Bruins for an incredible 16 years.

Before the Bruins, Marchand grew up in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, as the eldest of four children. He began his junior hockey in 2004 and played for three junior ice hockey teams before joining the Moncton Wildcats in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He stayed there for two seasons before joining Val-d'Or Foreurs in 2006-07 and later the Halifax Mosseheads for a brief spell.
