Bradley Kevin Marchand is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger and the captain of the Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League (NHL). Notably, he was drafted by the Bruins in the third round as the 71st overall pick during the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and has spent his entire professional career with the Bruins. Since debuting with them 2009-10 season, he has gone to break many league and Bruins' records. Prior to the Bruins, Marchand grew up in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, as the eldest of four children in a family of six. He began his junior hockey in 2004 and played for three junior ice hockey teams before joining the Moncton Wildcats in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He stayed there for two seasons before shifting bases and joining Val-d'or Foreurs in 2006-07 and later the Halifax Mosseheads for a brief spell.
