Mitchell Marner is an ice hockey right winger and alternate captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was selected 4th overall by the Leafs in the 2015 NHL Draft. Marner began his hockey career with the 3 Zones Hockey School before attending the Hill Academy in Vaughan, Ontario, and Blyth Academy. He played minor hockey in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) with the Vaughan Kings, winning the GTHL title in the 2011-2012 season.

Although he received a scholarship offer from the University of Michigan, Marner chose to play in the OHL with the London Knights. In his sophomore year, he earned OHL First All-Star honors and won the Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy. Marner helped the London Knights win the OHL Championship and the Memorial Cup in 2016. He signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on July 28, 2015.
