Roope Hintz is a Finnish forward for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL), as of May 2025. He started his career with Finnish team Ilves in 2013 prior to joining HIFK in 2015. He was drafted by the Stars in 2015 and signed an entry-level contract in 2017. Hintz started in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Texas Stars and made his NHL debut on October 4, 2018.
Hintz signed a three-year, $9.45 million extension in November 2020. He played through an injury in 2020-21 but still set career highs in goals, assists, and points. The Stars player scored his first NHL hat-trick and reached 30 goals in 65 games in the 2021-22 season. He then penned an eight-year, $67.6 million extension in November 2022. In the 2023 playoffs, he recorded his first postseason hat-trick, becoming the first to do so for the Stars.
