
Roope Hintz is a Finnish ice hockey forward for the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL), as of May 2025. Nicknamed the "Ace of Spades", Hintz started his hockey career with the Ilves organization in Finland. He played for the Tampa Bay Juniors in the 2012-13 season before returning to Ilves, where he made an impact in the 2014-15 Liiga season with five goals and 12 assists in 42 games.
Hintz was selected 49th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2015 NHL entry draft. He transitioned to North America in 2017-18, playing for the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League (AHL) and playing in the 2018 Calder Cup Finals. Hintz represented Finland in the World Junior Championships twice in 2015 and 2016, helping Finland win the gold medal with three goals and one assist in seven games in 2016.
