Roope Hintz is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward and alternate captain for the Dallas Stars in the NHL as of 2025. Born on November 17, 1996, in Nokia, Finland, he is nicknamed the "Ace of Spades." Hintz started playing ice hockey at the age of three and started playing with Nokia Pyry at Pyry Skating School. He began his amateur career in Finland with Ilves and HIFK.

In 2015, Hintz was deemed eligible for the NHL entry draft and was selected by the Dallas Stars as the 49th overall pick.
