Alexander Ovechkin, popularly known as Alex Ovechkin, was born on September 17, 1985. He is a Russian professional ice hockey right-winger who also serves as the captain of the Washington Capitals in the NHL. Alex is also regarded as 'Ovi' or 'the Great Eight'; his jersey number is 8. The Russian ice hockey player is known as the greatest goal-scorer in the history of the NHL due to his dedication to the game and unbeatable strength.
